According to Kicker, VfB Stuttgart’s top talent Mirza Catovic is on the verge of joining Barcelona.
One of Stuttgart’s most promising youth players, the 19-year-old midfielder will soon represent the Catalonian club. Barcelona will originally loan the talent with an obligation to buy the following season.
The Swabians will receive €600k up front as part of the loan deal, with a transfer a year later expected to be between €5m-€10m.
Catovic will spend this season playing for Barcelona’s reserve team with the prospect of making the move up to the first team in the near future.
The Italian born Serbia and German duel national has represented Germany U19s eight times and has been playing for Stuttgart II in the 3. Liga this season, playing two of their three league games so far.
At 6 ft 3 inches, the defensive midfielder will be one to watch in the coming years should he continue the trajectory he is currently on.
