Manchester City have completed the signing of winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window.

Allan, born in Florianópolis in April 2004, rose through Palmeiras' academy from the age of 15 and made his senior debut for the Brazilian club in January 2025.
The 22-year-old went on to accumulate 96 appearances, nine goals and 12 assists before his departure was marked by a guard of honour from Palmeiras supporters ahead of a league fixture against Santos last Tuesday.
Described by former Palmeiras head coach Abel Ferreira as a "very vertical" player, the left-footed winger is primarily a right-sided attacker capable of cutting inside, with the directness and dribbling ability that made him one of the most sought-after young wingers in South American football.

According to The Athletic, Manchester City have paid a guaranteed fee of €37.5 million with a further €2.5 million in agreed add-ons, totalling the €40 million figure confirmed by the club.
The Brazilian winger has joined forces with Enzo Maresca in a deal worth €40 million, penning a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2031.
Manchester City identified Allan as a priority target following the £85 million departure of Savinho to Tottenham and the loan move of Omar Marmoush to Spurs, with Maresca's need for a direct wide option on the right flank the primary driving force behind a move completed in the final days of the transfer window.

"I had good years of futsal. Until I was 14 years old, I played futsal so I think that helped me a lot when I migrated to the field," said Allan.
"I am a winger, I play on the sides. I can play inside too, as a midfielder but I play on the wing. My strength is dribbling, my style of playing, I have strength and I believe."
On learning that Manchester City were interested while he was still at Palmeiras, the Brazil international added: "At first, I was a little tense. It's normal but I was also very happy because this is the result of all the work I've been doing. So I was very happy."

Allan also spoke about following Manchester City closely from Brazil and the style of football that appealed to him as he was developing his game.
"I followed it a lot. I watched City a lot of games and there's no bad game in the Premier League, so I followed it a lot," City's new signing said.
"We followed it a lot in Brazil because of the beautiful football in which Manchester City plays. When Pep [Guardiola] was still here, it was pretty much that famous tiki-taka, so I followed it a lot and I really liked to see it."
On his conversations with fellow Brazilian and Manchester City centre-back Vitor Reis about what to expect at the club, Allan added: "He sent me a message when there were still some rumours going on.
"We haven't talked yet about what it's like here. But he said that when I arrived, he would give me attention and talk to me and explain to me how it works."

Allan concluded by drawing on the legacy of Brazilian players who have represented Manchester City before him, saying: "The Brazilians have been good examples here.
"So I believe we arrive confident to give our best, to deliver the maximum and be another good Brazilian here in the Premier League."

Director of football Hugo Viana also offered his reaction to a signing that brings further attacking depth to Maresca's squad ahead of a demanding schedule of Premier League and Champions League fixtures.
"Allan is a really exciting player, and we think he will be a big addition to the squad," said Viana. "He has shown throughout his short career so far that he will fight to be the best he can be."
