Man City are exploring alternatives after Liverpool rejected their £80m bid for Cody Gakpo.
_Sky Sports News_ understands Liverpool are concerned about their chances of bringing in a replacement for the Dutchman.
As things stand, they are unwilling to let him leave in this transfer window - which brings City back into play for **Everton's Iliman Ndiaye**.
**Tottenham** are already advanced in their pursuit of the Senegal international. Spurs and the Toffees have been in talks over two separate deals for Ndiaye and Richarlison, valuing the players at £60m and £35m respectively.
Both deals are understood to be at an advanced stage but it remains to be seen if Spurs and Everton can find a solution that satisfies Richarlison.
Manchester City's renewed interest in Ndiaye comes amid ongoing talks with Everton for **Jack Grealish** to return to Merseyside following his loan spell last season.
Everton are believed to be Grealish's preferred destination. He also has interest from Sunderland. Manchester City want to sign a wide forward and a central midfielder before the window closes.
They are interested in Ndiaye and **Enzo Fernandez**.
Manchester City allowed **Savio** and **Omar Marmoush** to join Tottenham earlier month, reducing Enzo Maresca's options on the wing.
City did not name a winger on their bench in Friday's [win over Crystal Palace](https://www.skysports.com/football/crystal-palace-vs-manchester-city/559458) and started with **Phil Foden** \- who Enzo Maresca admitted is not a winger - out wide at Selhurst Park.
[Liverpool signed **Bradley Barcola** from Paris Saint-Germain](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13577733/bradley-barcola-transfer-news-liverpool-complete-lb123m-signing-of-france-winger-from-psg) on Monday while **Victor Munoz** arrived from Osasuna earlier this summer.
