Ornstein: Tottenham pivoting to Mykhailo Mudryk loan and I honestly can’t even

I am SPEECHLESS, fam. Absolutely flat out, mouth hanging open speechless. David Ornstein of the Athletic is reporting that Tottenham have pivoted fully from Cody Gakpo and Iliman Ndiaye to… and I can’t believe I’m actually typing these words… Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk.

This isn’t the first time I heard the rumor, but I will be honest and say I laughed it off at the time thinking it was agent crap and that there’s no way on God’s green earth that my Tottenham Hotspur would ever consider a move so incredibly ridiculous as something like this. Well, guess who’s the dummy? Me, I’m the dummy. Because this is a terrible idea.

I honestly have no idea what we’re doing here. What’s the plan? Why would we possibly think that this is a good idea? Mudryk has been not only a failed Chelsea transfer since Chelsea signed him in 2023, but he’s coming off of a two year suspension from football for doping. But honestly — did anyone at Tottenham actually WATCH him play? What in the world would give anyone the idea that they should spend actual money to bring THIS guy in? The guy coming off a drugs ban who hasn’t played football in two years and was _actively bad at football_ when he did play? You should lose your job for even suggesting this move out loud.

Ornstein says Spurs have put in an inquiry for a season-long loan and I don’t care if it’s a dry or wet loan or whatever, it’s a bad move and I can’t believe we’re actually entertaining this. Moves like this one are not serious moves from a serious football club, it’s complete banter club shit and I am not joking that if this actually goes through I will be 100% fully back on the Fire Everyone In Charge train.
