Looking through some of the roster cuts I have identified a few player I think might be worthy of adding to our team. I'm not advocating bringing in every single one of these guys but these are the most intriguing names I found with their previous team listed and the rostered player they could replace for us. Couldn't find full cuts yet from the Chargers, Bucs, Cards.
My main takeaway is I think we can find some help on the edge, potentially multiple guys. Other spots like CB,TE,RB feel harder to find good fits.
Adisa Isaac Edge- Ravens-Okawara- Isaac is a very athletic edge with goo length and flashed impressive bend. Ravens took him late in round 3 in 2024. He didn't play much for them in 2 seasons but he has sacks in the past 2 preseason. Thought Isaac was intriguing project as a draft prospect and his style as a speed edge does fit our group well. Obviously plug and play rushers don't usually get cut so maybe we take a flyer.
Charlie Jones WR/KR- Bengals-Corley- Very surprised Jones was cut by the Bengals. Over the past 3 years he has 1 PR TD and 2 KR TDs. He averaged over 2 yards a KR more than Corley last year. I had hopes he'd be a productive slot guy in the NFL this hasn't happened. But he's a real playmaker on returns.
Larrell Murchison IDL-Rams- K Davis- long time favorite draft prospect of mine from 2020. Murchison is a victim of Donald's return. Murchison impressed me as a draft prospect with his ability to get in the backfield and shed blockers. I'd really like to see him in a scheme where he could get up field instead of holding blockers up.
Chase Lundt OL-Bills- Wypler- Lundt was a 6th round project pick of the Bills last year and a guy I think they want to get to their practice squad. He's still raw but is an athletic, fluid moving lineman who athletically can stick at tackle. Potential tackles are hard to come by, I'd like to see us take a shot at developing him.
McKinley Jackson IDL-Bengals- K Davis- Another guy I liked coming out of the draft. Jackson is shaped like a bowling ball but is surprisingly athletic for his size. Another guy who I find a scheme switch to be an intriguing possibility. Despite how he looks he might be better as a gap shooting player.
Bradyn Swinson- Edge- Patriots- Okwara- Can copy and paste what I said and apply it to Swinson here
Jabbar Muhammed-CB- Jags-Blackmon or Harden- Hyper competitive corner and a good tackler as well. Confident and fights the receiver for the ball all the way through the catch point. Tools are just average but his mentality has me feeling he'll make it some way somehow.
Brevin Jordan- TE-Texans- Burton- Pickings are slim at TE so hear we have Jordan. Good athlete at the position was once viewed as having quite a bit of upside catching the ball. Has shown to be a solid blocker in the NFL. Basically hasn't played football since 2023. Would be a big risk but has some upside.
Sam Williams- Edge- Cowboys- Okwara- Williams never quite lived up to the hype in Dallas but has a decent rookie and 2nd season. Last year his play declined a bit and now he was cut. I'd love to take a shot at this guy, once again stylistically he fits our group well with his incredible speed. Experienced player with 1,000 career snaps
Cobee Bryant- CB-Falcons- Blackmon/Harden- Bryant at Kansas had some of the craziest ball production of any corner I've seen 13 ints 22 pds. No doubt he is a flawed player who gambles too much but the raw ability to steal the ball is worth a look.
Jared Ivey- Edge/IDL- Seahawks- K Davis/Okwara- Ivey is a fun player I think Seattle wants to stash. Kinda tweener player out of ole miss in 2025. I'll keep it short Ivey is a strong player who held up well against the run at ole miss and showed surprising quickness. He's played well the past two preseasons in Seattle. He is a more lanky version of Kamara or Huntington players we've seemed to like. Really would like us to go get him and figure out the rest later.
