Liverpool has announced the arrival of Bradley Barcola, with Virgil van Dijk among those to greet the star on his first day at the AXA Training Centre.

Virgil van Dijk was among the first to greet Bradley Barcola after the winger made his switch to Liverpool official, following weeks of speculation over his future at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 23-year-old emerged as a target early in the summer, with the Reds hopeful of pouncing on a possible deal after the forward made it clear that he wanted to take on a new challenge.
It was a game of patience that followed in negotiations between Liverpool and PSG, as a gap in valuation meant that the two teams had to work towards reaching a compromise.
In the end, that compromise was a total package worth up to $166.7 million, which includes add-ons, as Andoni Iraola was finally handed another important player for his team moving forward.

With the Premier League season already underway, Barcola will need to hit the ground running, though a lack of preseason may impact his ability to do that.
The star seems confident about his start to life at Liverpool, however, after a quick discussion with captain Van Dijk on his first day at the AXA Training Centre.
On a video published by the Liverpool media team, the defender approached the new recruit, welcoming him and simply asking him: "Congratulations. Are you ready?" It was a simple yes from Barcola that followed, as the two new teammates got acquainted.

After two draws in the first two games, Liverpool fans will certainly hope that the summer signing can hit the ground running, with not much time before his potential first involvement.
The winger could make his debut against Ipswich Town on Friday, as the Reds travel to the newly-promoted team on an evening game that could offer Andoni Iraola a first chance to rack up three points.
Barcola could be a game-changer that makes the whole frontline click, with concerns over Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, considering their relative lack of impact since making a big-money move to Anfield last summer.
"It's a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I'm very happy," Barcola told club media after his arrival. "It took a long time, but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool, and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

"I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League — it's one of my biggest dreams in my life. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term — that's why I signed a long contract — and I hope I can do it."
It remains to be seen whether Iraola can get the frontline to click properly, especially considering the imbalance between the left and right flanks that now exists, but Barcola could add some more elite attacking talent to a team that boasts an impressive frontline when at its best.
