City were reportedly after Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo but were rebuffed by the Reds and turned their attention to the blue part of Merseyside.
Everton, meanwhile, have been [linked with USMNT striker Folarin Balogu](https://www.nbcsports.com/soccer/news/everton-linked-with-folarin-balogun-is-this-a-good-move-for-usa-star)n late in the window, which is set to close at 6pm ET Tuesday.
Ndiaye has played 261 minutes through three matches across all competitons for Everton this season, setting up a goal against Crystal Palace.
He had six goals and three assists in the Premier League last season and nine goals the prior campaign, and Ndiaye produced for Marseille in 2023-24 and Sheffield United before that.
The winger finds his way to danger areas and is a good dribbler with great quickness and terrific vision.
He led Everton in expected goals on target last season and was third in expected assists. Ndiaye was far and away the Toffees’ most productive dribbler even with Jack Grealish in the team. He’s also not shy in the tackle.
Everton have brought in Brennan Johnson and Tyrique George this season while Grealish went back to City on loan and Dwight McNeil also left Goodison Park. David Moyes will hope for more evolution from Tyler Dibling and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been an incisive player as well, but surely the Toffees have earmarked some of this money for another attacker.
Ndiaye should have no problem contributing to Man City... when he gets in the team. There’s already competition between Jeremy Doku, Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden, and new signing Allan for minutes but Ndiaye is a Premier League-proven asset who can shine in City’s blue.
He had a goal and two assists in just 113 minutes at the World Cup for Senegal, setting up an Ibrahim Mbaye goal off the bench versus France before scoring and setting up Pape Gueye in a blowout of Iraq.
