Chelsea have opened talks with Tottenham over a surprise loan move for Mykhailo Mudryk as the winger’s future takes another dramatic turn before the transfer deadline.
Mudryk had been pushing to remain in the Premier League rather than move to Strasbourg, with Leeds United previously among the clubs trying to sign him.
Now another London club has entered the race.
Sky Sports reports that Tottenham have started talks with Chelsea over a loan for Mudryk, after Spurs switched attention away from Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye.

Tottenham open Mykhailo Mudryk talks
The development is significant progression from Mudryk’s position only days ago.
ReadChelsea reported that Mudryk wanted to remain in England as Leeds weighed another Chelsea approach.
Tottenham have now moved beyond interest and entered discussions.
TalkSPORT goes further by reporting that Spurs are in advanced negotiations for Mudryk, with Roberto De Zerbi keen on a reunion with the winger after previously working with him at Shakhtar Donetsk.
There is no agreement yet, so Mudryk should not be described as set to join Tottenham.
But Chelsea’s willingness to discuss a loan with a direct Premier League rival suggests his future could be resolved quickly.
The next major stage will be a loan agreement between the clubs or confirmation that Mudryk has given Spurs the green light.
