Everton have agreed a deal to sell Tim Iroegbunam to Hull City, with the transfer package worth up to £22 million.

Iroegbunam had been on Hull’s radar for much of the summer, with the Tigers identifying the Everton midfielder as a potential addition.
Hull had previously made a move for the 23-year-old, but the proposed transfer collapsed after Iroegbunam suffered a hamstring injury.
The situation has now dramatically changed, with Hull returning for the midfielder and agreeing a deal with Everton.

Another Everton departure
Iroegbunam’s exit would represent another significant piece of business for Everton during a hectic end to the transfer window.
David Moyes has strengthened his midfield this summer with the additions of Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard, while James Garner, Merlin Rohl and Harrison Armstrong also provide competition in the position.
Iroegbunam’s opportunities were therefore likely to become increasingly limited.
His departure would also provide Everton with another substantial injection of funds as they continue to reshape Moyes’ squad.
A significant return for Everton
The financial terms make this an especially interesting deal for Everton.
The club are set to receive €15m up front, with another €12m potentially payable depending on the conditions attached to the add-ons.
The full package would be worth up to £22m.
Everton signed Iroegbunam from Aston Villa in 2024 for a reported fee of around £9m, meaning the club could secure a significant profit on their initial investment.
For Hull, the deal represents another major investment in a young player as they continue to build their squad.
Iroegbunam’s Everton career
Iroegbunam joined Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 and initially made a positive impression.
The midfielder demonstrated his ability as a defensive midfielder and featured regularly during the early part of his Everton career before injury disrupted his progress.
His opportunities subsequently became more limited, while Everton’s summer recruitment has increased competition for midfield places.
With Hackney and Norgaard now added to the squad, Iroegbunam’s future at Goodison Park appeared increasingly uncertain.
Now, it appears his Everton career is coming to an end.
After the first proposed move collapsed earlier this month, Iroegbunam’s transfer to Hull is now back on — and this time, it appears to be happening.
