**Chelsea have agreed a permanent deal with Tottenham for Tosin Adarabioyo, with the defender also agreeing personal terms ahead of a medical.**
The 28-year-old is now closing in on a remarkable direct switch between the London rivals after Tottenham accelerated negotiations on Sunday.

This is significant progression from ReadChelsea’s earlier report that Tottenham were working on a late deal for Tosin.
At that stage, a move was described as a concrete possibility but remained dependent partly on Kevin Danso’s Tottenham future.
The clubs have now found an agreement and Tosin has accepted Spurs’ contract terms.
If the remaining formalities are completed, he would become the first senior player to move directly between Chelsea and Tottenham since 2009.
Tosin has not featured in any of Xabi Alonso’s opening three matchday squads this season, with Chelsea reshaping their centre-back options throughout the summer.
The former Fulham defender joined Chelsea on a free transfer in 2024 and still has two years remaining on his Stamford Bridge contract.
Tottenham are also discussing another Chelsea deal, with [The Athletic reporting that a loan agreement has been reached for Mykhailo Mudryk](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7488501/2026/08/31/mykhailo-mudryk-tottenham-chelsea-transfer-news/), although personal terms with the winger still need to be finalised.
For Tosin, however, the situation is considerably further advanced.
