Borussia Dortmund are keen to sign Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri, talkSPORT understands.

The German giants are eyeing a loan move for the 19-year-old before the transfer window closes.

Bundesliga sides have until 7pm UK time on Tuesday to finalise their summer business, although the window being open in England would give them another four hours.

Dortmund have identified Nwaneri as a late target as they look to bolster their options for this season's Champions League.

They will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on November 24, although Nwaneri would be unlikely to be eligible to face his parent club should he make the move.

The midfielder was not included in the matchday squad for Arsenal's win over Aston Villa on Monday night.

He has yet to feature for the Gunners this term, having been an unused substitute against Coventry City in the season opener.

Nwaneri spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille.

However, he made just 11 appearances for the club, scoring twice and adding an assist.

The teenager is the Premier League's youngest-ever player after making his debut aged 15 years and 181 days in September 2022.

Nwaneri has since featured 51 times for Arsenal following his progression from their famed Hale End academy.

Nwaneri's Arsenal future

talkSPORT revealed earlier this month that Nwaneri was expected to leave the Emirates Stadium before the end of the transfer window.

It came after he was left out for their Community Shield victory over Manchester City.

Previous talks were held with Galatasaray before interest emerged from clubs in Germany.

As well as Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen have also been earmarked as a potential landing spot.

Dortmund are also set to face Aston Villa on the road along with home matches against Inter Milan, Real Betis and Villarreal.

Nwaneri made his first appearance in the competition as a 17-year-old back in November 2024.

To date, he has scored twice in ten Champions League outings for Arsenal.
