Celtic have reportedly been alerted to the possibility of taking Chelsea youngster Kendry Paez on a loan deal.

The Hoops have strong connections this summer with the Premier League giants having previously agreed to take Landon Emenalo on loan as cover for Kieran Tierney at left-back.

That deal is still up in the air as the youngster, 18, looks to prove his fitness before he makes the move north of the border to join the Scottish Premiership champions.

Now, though, Alan Nixon claims the Blues have also been in touch with Celts over Paez who is a winger they are prepared to allow to leave on the short-term - a season-long loan - in a bid to get their kid game time.

According to the same journalist, Blackburn Rovers among other clubs in the EFL Championship have also been contacted about Paez.

The Ecuadorian winger, 19, previously turned out for River Plate as well as Strasbourg on loan so is no stranger to moves out of Stamford Bridge.

Celtic, meanwhile, have already signed Haissem Hassan in the wide area for the season ahead while Camilo Duran is also able to play in that position.

Jota, though, remains sidelined with a long-term injury so numbers would perhaps not be a bad thing.
