Wide receiver Anthony Gould stands out as one of those players.
Gould is preparing for the third season of his NFL career with the Colts. Indianapolis liked his talents coming out of Oregon State, selecting him in the fifth round of the 2024 draft.
Gould has played sparingly on offense for the squad in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, mainly being on special teams as a return specialist. The latter year saw him make his debut start, giving him a chance to be active in the receiving corps.
After a decent preseason that saw him catch four passes for 51 yards, Gould looks to resume his career with Indianapolis. This time, it will [be on the practice squad](https://x.com/mzenitz/status/2094540552062615605) going into 2026, per reporter Matt Zenitz.
“The #Colts are signing wide receiver Anthony Gould to their practice squad, sources tell @CBSSports. Was a 2024 fifth-round pick of Indy and was a kick and punt returner for the Colts last season. Had four catches for 51 yards this preseason,” Zenitz wrote.

The Colts have playoff aspirations after missing the cut last year due to injuries. With Daniel Jones back in the fold from Achilles rehab, the squad has high hopes on achieving better results.
Anthony Gould hopes to have a presence in the attack when the situation calls for it. He was firmly active in special teams, providing quality plays whenever he could.
The Colts will seek to improve upon their 8-9 record from the previous two seasons. They also intend to make the playoffs after a five-year absence and win the AFC South for the first time since 2014.
Indianapolis' regular season will begin at home. They host the Baltimore Ravens as kickoff commences on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
