It's deadline day for Manchester City and excitement is building ahead of a frantic end to the transfer window. Uncharacteristically, City look set to do a lot of late business this summer. Enzo Maresca's later-than-expected arrival did not help matters, while the World Cup only complicated things further.
That being said, City did manage to complete a £116m deal for Elliot Anderson during the World Cup. Last week they signed Ayyoub Bouaddi for £85m from Lille, but Maresca is still keen to add one or two midfielders to his squad.
Enzo Fernandez is a target for City. The Blues missed Chelsea's unofficial deadline of 5pm on Friday, August 14. They were confident a deal could still be done later if the money was right. After being dropped for Chelsea's wins over Luton Town and Brighton last week, that assumption appears to be accurate.
AS Roma's Manu Kone is also a player of interest for City. However, signing a second midfielder before 11pm would be a stretch. Kone has also been linked with Chelsea as they prepare themselves to potentially lose Fernandez.
Elsewhere, City will look to strengthen their attack further. Savinho and Omar Marmoush's recent departures to Tottenham have left Maresca with a gap that needs to be filled. Savinho was replaced by his compatriot Allan Elias on Monday. He joined City for a fee that could reach £34.2m.
However, a replacement for Marmoush is still needed. Everton's Iliman Ndiaye is on City's radar, and it's understood a £65m deal has been agreed in principle with the Toffees.
It was reported on Monday night that City's move for Cody Gakpo is now off after they had a bid worth a total of £80m rejected. Let us know who City need to sign most on deadline day in our poll below:
