It is a watch this space when it comes to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Deadline Day.
The Gunners have reportedly agreed to sell forward duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli to LaLiga champions Barcelona and Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal respectively.
Arsenal are also believed to be interested in wantaway Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez is at the centre of the biggest transfer saga of this transfer window, with no end in sight ahead of the approaching September 1 deadline.
The World Cup winner has made no secret of the fact he wants to leave Atleti to join LaLiga rivals Barcelona, but the club do not want to let him go and the story has played out publicly while Arsenal are reportedly targeting the Argentina international.

RMC Sport claims Arsenal are eyeing the Lyon winger and Belgian starlet before the deadline.

What time does the transfer window close?
The 2026 Premier League transfer window will close at 11pm BST, Tuesday September 1 (8am, Wednesday September 2 AEST).
The window has been open since June 15, 2026.
When does the transfer window close in other leagues?
The September 1 (September 2 AEST) deadline has been aligned across Europe’s major leagues, with the Premier League, EFL, German Bundesliga, Italy’s Serie A, Spanish LaLiga and Ligue 1 in France all closing their transfer windows on the same day.
However, that doesn’t rule out departures after the deadline. Players can still leave Premier League clubs for competitions whose transfer windows remain open beyond September 2, like Turkiye for example.
Can signings be made after Deadline Day?
The Tuesday, 23:00 BST (Wednesday, 8am AEST) deadline does not necessarily mean the end of transfer activity.
If the required paperwork is lodged in time, clubs can be granted up to two additional hours to complete the remaining formalities, meaning some moves may not become official until after the window has closed.
