Liverpool have had a stuttering start to the season but they have a chance to bolster their squad on transfer deadline day and overcome their recent woes. The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
They followed that up with yet another frustrating 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday. Time is ticking away for the Reds to shore up their squad with the deadline at 11pm tonight (Tuesday).
Andoni Iraola has the added bonus of Bradley Barcola joining his squad after he officially signed from PSG on Monday, but the Reds are light on the right flank and in midfield. While it doesn't look like they're going to address all their priorities this window, the Reds are interested in Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr.
Elsewhere, Liverpool have made inroads to secure their future on the flanks with the capture of a young, up-and-coming star.
Sarr stance
Palace are said to remain steadfast in their ambition to keep Sarr this summer, despite interest from Liverpool. The Reds had a £50million bid rejected for the Senegal international last week, but remain interested in the right winger.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Eagles have so far ignored further overtures from Liverpool, but are exploring options in the market in case an agreement is reached. Palace are also believed to be demanding £75m for their star man, with Foot Mercato reporting that Liverpool are still pushing to secure the winger's signature.

The interest in Sarr comes after the Reds saw two bids rejected for Yankuba Minteh earlier this month. While it is thought the club have turned their attention elsewhere, a deal could still be resurrected if Brighton lower their asking price from £80m.
Sources close to the player on Sunday claimed talks were set to resume between the two clubs in an effort to strike a deal late in the window. Minteh is said to have his heart set on a move to Merseyside.

Winger gives green light
Djylian N’Guessan is set to join Liverpool next summer after the Reds agreed a fee with his club, Saint-Etienne. The 18-year-old was previously linked with Chelsea, but his future is now poised to take him to Merseyside after the Reds agreed a deal to sign the French U20 international.

The young winger made his professional debut at 16 years old and has so far played 11 games for the senior side.
The Reds are putting the finishing touches on the transfer of the 18-year-old, having agreed an initial fee in a deal worth around £4.25m.
Should the move go through, N'Guessan, who is out of contract in 12 months, would spend the remainder of this season with the Ligue 2 side.
