Grealish spent the 2025/26 season on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to revitalise his career after two years of inconsistent action under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
The 30-year-old joined Manchester City in 2021 for a then club-record £100 million and won three Premier League titles, a maiden UEFA Champions League title, an FA Cup and a Carabao Cup among other silverware.
The forward particularly played a key role for City in their 2022/23 treble winning season, scoring vital goals against Arsenal and Liverpool whilst starting every UEFA Champions League knockout tie en route to a historic 1-0 final win over Inter Milan in Istanbul.
However, Grealish dropped down Guardiola's pecking order in the seasons that followed the European triumph and decided to join forces with David Moyes at Everton last summer on a season-long loan.

How did Grealish fare on loan at Everton last season?
Making a fast start to life in Merseyside, Grealish quickly became a Toffees fan favourite but his season was ended cruelly to a foot stress fracture in January.
Having been excluded from Thomas Tuchel's squad for the FIFA World Cup, Grealish returned to Manchester City to recuperate from his injury and missed the Blues' pre-season tour of Hong Kong and South Korea.
The winger played 45 minutes in Manchester City's 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in Cardiff in August and came off the bench in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the opening day of the Premier League campaign.
However, Grealish did not travel with the Manchester City squad to London for their 4-1 beating of Crystal Palace last week as it became inevitable that an exit was on the cards.

Everton agree season-long loan deal for Grealish
As reported by The Athletic's David Ornstein, Everton have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Grealish on another season-long loan.
It has been added that Grealish will undergo a medical on Tuesday morning before completing a return to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.
Sunderland are reported to have made a formal offer to sign Grealish on loan, with several other clubs are understood to have vested an interest in the Manchester City star.
However, Grealish's preference was another spell at Everton - who when they signed the former Aston Villa captain on loan last summer - had an option to buy the Englishman for £50 million on a permanent basis.

However, the financial constraints of paying Grealish's wages - understood to be around £300,000-per-week and potential concerns around the attacker's fitness - are likely to have swayed the Toffees towards another loan.
Grealish will be a free agent next summer and could choose to join Everton - or a new club - on a permanent basis as his Manchester City chapter edges to completion.
