OREGON CITY, Ore. (KPTV) - One Oregon City woman says she went on a date with a man the [FBI alleges posed as an NFL player and real estate investor](https://www.kptv.com/2026/08/26/man-posing-nfl-player-accused-stealing-13m-26-women/) to defraud at least 26 women of more than $1 million.
“Spending that much money to pretend like you have money, that is commitment, that is commitment,” said Rachel Anderson.
Rachel Anderson said she met 35-year-old Daejon Love on the dating app Bumble in June 2024. He told her his name was John Prince and that he was a Swiss real estate developer.
But during their first date, Anderson said something felt off.
“He said I’m very intentional and efficient when it comes to dating, and if I pursue you, you will be the only one I pursue you I need someone who has been around money, who understands these things aren’t luxuries to me this is just my normal life,” said Anderson. “Within five minutes I knew I wasn’t going to see him again.”
Love was arrested by the FBI last week, accused of conning more than two dozen women in Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho out of $1.3 million.
Investigators said he posed as an NFL player and real estate investor and worked with alleged 18-year-old accomplice Taylor Chan. Both are charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
“When I saw that, I almost fell out of bed, I could not believe it,” said Anderson. “It’s just awful, I can’t imagine how those women feel, I really can’t.”
Anderson said though her time with Love was brief, he falsely portrayed himself to be legitimately wealthy and had close friendships with celebrities and NFL players.
“He did say I have $5 million sitting in this account, and he said the home that I just mentioned in Vancouver was $3 million the entire time it was just that, this cost this, this cost this, I had never seen or heard anything like it before and I was just totally blown away,” said Anderson.
Following love’s arrest, Anderson said she has received backlash from sharing her story, while Love has become a viral sensation and she hopes that by continuing to share her story, it empowers other victims to feel safe coming forward.
“We’ve totally gotten away from this person did this, now it’s all about look at who fell for it so fast within a day, ‘it went from oh my gosh this man is awful to we support him and we think this is funny’ and if you fell for this you deserve it and I think that’s horrific,” said Anderson.
