Everton have agreed to re-sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old is set for a medical on Tuesday morning before completing his return to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Sunderland and Aston Villa were among the others interested in a move, but Grealish has picked to re-join the Toffees following an impressive loan spell at the Merseyside club last season, according to The Athletic.
Grealish made 22 appearances for David Moyes' side before suffering a stress fracture in his foot in January which ended his season. He ended up returning to City in the summer and had featured in their opening two matches of the season against Arsenal in the Community Shield and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
But the England international was left out of Enzo Maresca's squad for the trip to Crystal Palace on Friday as he closed in on a move back to Everton. Now, more than 72 hours later, the Toffees have agreed a deal with City to bring him back on loan for the 2026/27 season.
Grealish, who cost £100million when he joined City from Aston Villa in 2021, is out of contract next June, effectively meaning that he has played his final game for the eight-time Premier League champions. It does, however, indicate that Everton can sign him on a permanent deal for free at the end of the campaign.

The agreement comes after City reached an agreement in principle for Everton's Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegal forward has chosen to join City following competition from Tottenham for his signature.
Everton have added Tyrique George and Brennan Johnson to their squad this summer in an attempt to strengthen out wide. But, as well as losing Ndiaye to City, Dwight McNeil moved to Palace as part of a swap deal that saw Johnson, who has impressed in his first three Everton appearances, in the other direction.
Elsewhere, the Toffees are eyeing up a move to sign Kenny Tete from Fulham before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Tuesday. The Dutchman was close to joining Everton on a free transfer last summer, only to change his mind and sign a new contract at Craven Cottage. But a £9million deal has been discussed to bring him to Merseyside now with Moyes desperate to add a new right-back to his rear-guard.
Moyes' men have made a positive start to the season, collecting four points from their opening two matches. They beat Palace 2-0 on the opening weekend before drawing 1-1 at Bournemouth on Saturday.
