Liverpool are looking to sign another winger before the transfer window closes late on Deadline Day
Liverpool are set for a busy Transfer Deadline Day, as they look to get another winger on board after completing their primary mission of landing £123m signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. The Reds are still looking short on the right wing, and are expected to get one more deal over the line to bolster their squad before the 11pm deadline.

Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield during the last couple of weeks of the window, with the dynamic forward is thought to have piqued the interest of Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola. Sarr has enjoyed a strong two seasons at Palace, and lit up the World Cup earlier this summer, scoring four goals in Senegal’s run to the Round of 32.
Last week, the Reds were believed to have lodged a £50m bid for Sarr, which was immediately rejected by Palace. An improved offer for an unspecified amount was said to have been made after the weekend, but again it appears that the Eagles knocked it back, as they remain determined to hold on to their 28-year-old gem.

According to a new report from Team Talk, Palace are now “adamant” that Sarr will not be allowed to leave on Deadline Day, even if Liverpool return with a third, higher offer. They say that the Eagles are determined to back new manager Pierre Sage, and cling on to Sarr as well as star midfielder Adam Wharton despite intense interest from their Premier League rivals.
The story goes on to suggest that Liverpool’s interest in Sarr, for this window at least, is over. It says that they’re not expected to make another offer for the ex-Watford star, after it was decided that fellow versatile forward Cody Gakpo would be kept at the club, despite Manchester City coming within a hair’s breadth of signing the Netherlands international.
Sarr has not featured for Palace yet this season, due to an ongoing groin injury. However, it’s said that the club expect him to return to training imminently - an outcome which may well be accelerated by the Liverpool transfer saga being put to bed. The Eagles could do with Sarr back in the side, after losing their two opening games of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Liverpool have had a frustrating window to say the least, failing to land top target Yan Diomande - who ended up at Real Madrid - and having to wait until close to the deadline to pull off the Barcola deal. However, they look to have signed an exciting young talent in Victor Munoz, with Jeremy Jacquet also expected to become a key player for the Reds.
As the clock ticks down to the transfer window closing, Liverpool are said to still hold an interest in Brighton and Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, despite seeing a £60m bid for the Gambia star turned down last month. The player’s entourage are said to still be pushing for their client to join the Reds, in a deal that could go right down to the wire.
Young Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans is expected to join the Reds in a £30m move, alongside Saint-Etienne youngster Djylian N'Guessan. Both players are set to remain with their current clubs until next summer, allowing them to gain more precious first team minutes before heading to Merseyside at the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
