Chelsea have agreed to send Robert Sanchez to Como on loan, with the goalkeeper now closing in on a deadline-day move to Serie A.
Sanchez’s Stamford Bridge future had become increasingly uncertain following Chelsea’s decision to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old has now moved a significant step closer to leaving.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Como have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea over a loan for Sanchez, giving the move his trademark “here we go”.

Robert Sanchez closes in on Como move
Sky Sport Italy also reports that Como are closing in on the deal, with Sanchez expected to arrive on loan after Noel Tornqvist’s move to Monza created space in their goalkeeping department.
The development comes only days after ReadChelsea reported that Sanchez faced being pushed towards the exit following Chelsea’s £7.5m Martinez deal.
Chelsea then completed the signing of Martinez, leaving Sanchez’s position even more uncertain.
The Spaniard originally joined Chelsea from Brighton in a deal worth around £25million in 2023.
He had started Chelsea’s opening Premier League game this season, but Martinez’s arrival has transformed the goalkeeping hierarchy under Xabi Alonso.
A Como loan would now give Sanchez the opportunity for regular football away from Stamford Bridge while Chelsea continue reshaping their squad on deadline day.
The clubs have agreed the loan terms, with the remaining formalities now standing between Sanchez and a move to Italy.
