Barcelona are due for a busy end to the summer transfer window, with a number of cases still to be resolved. At least two players are in line to leave the Spotify Camp Nou, with one of them being young attacking midfielder Guille Fernandez.
Guille, like cousin Toni Fernandez, failed to convince Hansi Flick to give him a place in the Barcelona first team, which is why the decision has been made for him to leave the club this summer, rather than spent another season with Barca Atletic. [He was removed from group training](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/barcelona-players-very-unhappy-with-training-exile-decision/) a few weeks ago to ensure that an exit was not jeopardised, and now, he is about to leave.
As per Jijantes FC (via [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/cifras-traspaso-guille-fernandez-mallorca-133821941)), Barcelona have agreed to sell Guille to Mallorca. The Segunda side, who bought Jan Virgili and Pablo Torre from the Catalans 12 months ago, will pay €3-5m for 50% of his rights, while they have also allowed a buy-back clause to be included in the operation.
It wasn’t too long ago that Guille was considered to be one of the best talents in La Masia, but unfortunately, he has failed to kick on over the last couple of years. He will hope to get back on track at Mallorca, who have a good track record of developing young players, as was the case with Virgili in particular last season.
Should he kick on, Barcelona will have a decision to make in the future whether to bring him back to the club. Regardless, they will surely be keeping tabs on how he gets on in Palma, where he should get plenty of playing time due to Mallorca being in the second tier following their relegation from La Liga at the end of the 2025-26 season.
