Federico Chiesa has been linked with an exit but his father says he is happy at Liverpool, even though his role under Andoni Iraola is unlikely to be much different from Arne Slot

Federico Chiesa's father, Enrico, has confirmed that his son is content at Liverpool, despite ongoing links with a return to Serie A.
Chiesa has missed the last two Liverpool games through a minor injury but is not expected to depart before the transfer deadline. Various clubs in his homeland, Italy, have been linked with moves almost ever since he moved to Anfield in 2024.
It remains unclear exactly how big a role Chiesa could play for Liverpool in the next few months. Andoni Iraola's style requires speed and intensity out wide and the 28-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular spot.
In each of his two seasons at Liverpool to date, Chiesa has started only one game in the Premier League. Most of his action might have to come in the domestic cups.
With Alexander Isak the only fit striker at the moment, Chiesa might find a route to minutes down the center. However, he has not played much there and it is not his favored role.
"Federico is not thinking about leaving Liverpool," his father told 365Scores.

"Chiesa is very happy at Anfield and feels extremely good within the club. As for renewing the contract, his first desire is to continue and stay with Liverpool."
It seems highly unlikely that Chiesa would be handed a new contract at Liverpool. His existing deal has another two years left to run.
"Right now, at the moment, I am happy here," Chiesa told reporters, including from the Liverpool ECHO, back in June.
"I love the club, I love the fans, I love everything. I am doing the best I can to have a chance here. And then we will see.

"At the minute, the only thing I am thinking about is Liverpool. I don't know, it is difficult to say [if this is a fresh start]. It is always a fresh start at the beginning of the year."
Liverpool travels to Ipswich next. It remains to be seen if Chiesa is fit enough to make a return to action.
Liverpool.com says: Chiesa couldn't really be let go at this point, because the Reds don't have enough options as it is. The chances of him making himself a regular, though, appear to be very slim.
