Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott has spoken about his excitement over a potential move from Anfield to Valencia. The 23-year-old looks set to sign on a season-long loan ahead of the 11pm deadline.
The midfielder is yet to feature in a matchday squad for Liverpool under Andoni Iraola. He spent last season out on loan with Aston Villa, but struggled for game time at Villa Park.
He will now hope that a move to Spain will see him show what he can do. Elliott has travelled to Valencia to put the finishing details to the move, and has outlined his ambitions for the season.

“I'm truly grateful for this opportunity," he said upon his landing in Valencia. “I'm going to play my best here.
“I know the club's history and I know it demands a lot of hard work. I'm going to give everything I have for Valencia.
“To be honest, it all happened pretty fast. I was just waiting for the call and made sure I was ready to come here and play, which is exactly what I'm doing. I'm here now and looking forward to the weekend.”
He added: “I hope to lead Valencia to European football. As I've said, it's an incredible club and I want to do everything I can for it. I believe that, especially with the team we have, we are capable of achieving it. It's going to be a difficult season, but I'm very confident.”

The club currently sit in 16th place in La Liga, and are winless in their three league games so far. Saturday saw them fall to a 3-1 away loss against Deportivo.
That follows a 0-0 opening day draw vs Celta and a 1-0 home loss against Real Betis in their second game of the campaign.
Elliott joined Liverpool as a youngster from Fulham in 2019. He has made 149 first team appearances for the Reds, scoring 15 goals and providing 21 assists.
But in recent seasons, he has fallen down the pecking order. He is currently under contract until 2028, but Liverpool could potentially look to extend his contract to retain his transfer value.
