Hull City have agreed a deal to sign Everton's Tim Iroegbunam as they continue to strengthen on transfer deadline day.

The Tigers have been looking for another midfielder to add to Sergej Jakirovic's ranks and they appear to have found their man with Iroegbunam set to make the switch the switch from the Toffees.

A initial fee, thought to be around £13m, has been agreed and Iroegbunam is expected to make the journey over to East Yorkshire today in order to complete the switch.

The deal is one City had more or less wrapped up earlier in the transfer window, only to pull the plug on it due to the injury the 23-year-old picked up in pre-season.

That injury was thought to be a significant one at the time with the midfielder set to miss a chunk of the season.

However, it seems the issue wasn't as bad as initially feared and he came off the bench for Everton in their Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

He becomes the fourth centre-midfielder the Tigers have signed this summer, with Hidemasa Morita, Lucas Gourna-Douath and Jens Hjerto-Dahl also making the switch to the MKM Stadium following the club's promotion to the Premier League.

He'll arrive at Hull with plenty of experience, too, for someone who turned 23 at the end of June. He has made 53 appearances for Everton since joining the club in 2024, with 31 of those outings coming last season.

Prior to his switch to Merseyside, the midfielder was at Aston Villa, where he came through the youth system and broke into the first-team to play 19 times in claret and blue. He also had a fruitful loan spell at QPR during his time at Villa.

The former England youth international will be making the move to City with the hope of kicking on and taking the next steps in his career then and he sees the MKM Stadium as the perfect stage to do that.
