Chelsea’s huge summer overhaul has continued with striker Marc Guiu departing to join German club RB Leipzig.
The Blues confirmed on Tuesday morning that the Spaniard had completed a permanent move to the Bundesliga side, with BBC Sport claiming that the deal is worth £14.6 million.
Guiu joined Chelsea from Spanish side Barcelona for a fee of just £5 million in 2024, having scored twice in seven games for the Catalan giants.
He was sent on loan to Sunderland ahead of the 2025/26 campaign but was then recalled to Stamford Bridge less than a month later after Nicolas Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan.
During his brief spell at The Stadium of Light, Guiu scored once in three appearances for the Black Cats, but he was used sparingly last term after returning to west London.

Guiu departs Chelsea having netted eight goals in 29 appearances for the Blues, with arguably his finest moment coming during December 2024, when he scored a brace against Kazakh side Astana in the UEFA Conference League before grabbing a hat-trick against Shamrock Rovers the following week.
The Spaniard hadn’t been included in any of Xabi Alonso’s three matchday squads so far this term, though, and he has now departed to join Leipzig permanently.
Despite featuring scarcely during his time at Stamford Bridge, the striker did win both the FIFA Club World Cup and the Conference League during his time in the capital.
Guiu is the latest in a string of players to leave Chelsea this summer, with the likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Alejandro Garnacho and Andrey Santos all having departed so far.
Tosin Adarabioyo, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Robert Sanchez could also all leave Chelsea before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday night.
