Chelsea have received an offer worth more than £120million from Manchester City for Enzo Fernandez, with the midfielder already prepared to undergo a medical if the Blues approve his departure.
The transfer saga has now reached its most advanced stage after City opened direct negotiations with Chelsea on Sunday night.
ReadChelsea previously reported that Manchester City had entered club-to-club talks over Fernandez, having already agreed personal terms with the Argentina international.
City have now turned those discussions into a huge formal proposal.

Chelsea receive Enzo Fernandez bid
Fabrizio Romano reports that City’s offer is worth more than £120m, with the Premier League side hoping to receive Chelsea’s green light at any moment.
Fernandez is also prepared to undergo his medical immediately if an agreement is reached.
The final decision, however, remains with Chelsea.
That distinction is crucial. The £120m-plus bid has not yet been accepted, meaning Fernandez should not be described as a Manchester City player or the transfer as agreed.
Chelsea’s stance could also be connected to their attempts to secure a replacement.
The Blues have already moved for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, with Romano reporting on deadline day that a €45m package has been rejected, although negotiations remain ongoing.
Chelsea had previously turned their attention towards Manu Koné after cooling their Camara pursuit, but Roma have resisted losing the Frenchman.
City have now made their move.
Chelsea’s answer is all that currently stands between Fernandez and the next stage of a blockbuster deadline-day transfer.
