Chelsea’s work during this transfer window has been admirable, but they are at risk of making life difficult for Xabi Alonso with their deadline day business.
The Blues have been praised for making impressive signings in key areas of the pitch. Morgan Rogers, Emi Martinez and Maxence Lacroix have all walked straight into the starting side.
There have also been some great player sales confirmed by the club, including making a profit on the likes of Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson and Andrey Santos.
Chelsea in danger of undoing great transfer window on deadline day
However, their transfer window will not come to an end until the Enzo Fernandez saga reaches its conclusion. He is still hoping to join Manchester City before the transfer window comes to an end.
Chelsea have tried to hold a firm stance with this situation, setting a deadline a number of weeks ago to part ways with him.

But, with the Argentine seemingly refusing to play at the moment at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have been backed into a corner where it looks inevitable that he will depart.
With how little time there is left in the transfer window, it has almost ruled out Chelsea’s chances of signing someone like Adam Wharton and Alex Scott this summer.
They are currently strongly linked with signing Lamine Camara and Manu Kone, and while both are impressive players, it would be hard to convince Chelsea fans they are a suitable replacement for a player set to leave for £120m.
Alonso has enjoyed a very strong start in charge in West London, however has not seen his midfield options strengthen during this transfer window.
Adding to this a potential Moises Caicedo injury concern, the Spaniard is already being asked to think on his feet with options like Malo Gusto starting in the Premier League in midfield.
Seeing Fernandez depart without a suitable replacement would be a massive loss for Chelsea to end what has so far been a very strong transfer window.
