**Chelsea submitted another offer for Bournemouth’s Alex Scott before the transfer deadline, according to reports.**
[_The Mirror_](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelseas-late-alex-scott-transfer-37614229) claim that the Blues made a “last gasp effort” to bring in their “no.1 target” to replace Enzo Fernandez.
A bid of around £64m was tabled earlier in the summer, and there have been reports that further proposals have been lodged over the past few weeks.
It seems one more attempt was made to land the 22-year-old prior to the window closing, but Bournemouth refused to sell, despite the Blues’ willingness to spend a sizeable amount on the player.
Scott will be available for a lower amount next year

That means Bournemouth will have to lower their asking price next summer, or risk losing Scott for nothing the following year. He may even be on the market for less than Chelsea’s initial £64m bid, although that may depend on how much competition there is for his signature.

_The Mirror_ name Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool as Scott’s other suitors. Out of the three, the Gunners would be the least likely to make a move as they have recently snapped up Bruno Guimaraes.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are expected to pose a much greater threat. The Reds are managed by the player’s former coach, Andoni Iraola, and they are likely to reinforce their options in the middle of the park. Alexis Mac Allister will also have one year left on his contract next year.
Of course, it is important to point out that if Scott has a poor season or suffers an injury, interest in the player may cool anyway.
