AS Monaco full-back Jordan Teze (26) is expected remain with Filipe Luis’ Principality side after being targeted by Everton FC, according to Nice-Matin. The Toffees have instead opted to sign Lyon’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles in a €5m deal. The former Arsenal right-back had entered the final months of his Lyon contract. The outlet reports that David Moyes’ Everton were interested in signing Teze on loan, given they have shortcomings in the right-back position.

AS Monaco’s management have vetoed Teze’s exit given that the Dutch full-back’s versatility is valued by the Ligue 1 side. Les Monégasques are the only team in the French top-tier with a 100% record this season after opening wins against Le Havre and Olympique de Marseille. Monaco play PSG away on Friday.
