Update: Vivianne Miedema

Manchester City can confirm that Vivianne Miedema has sustained a knee injury and will miss the start of the Barclays Women’s Super League season.

The Dutch international picked up the issue in training, which is separate to the previous knee injuries she’s experienced.

Miedema was a key player for the Blues in our 2025/26 double-winning campaign, finishing the season with 19 goal contributions in 25 appearances.

The Dutch international is now working hard with the Club’s medical staff to return to action as soon as possible.

Everyone at City would like to wish Viv the very best in her recovery.
