Liverpool looks set to keep one of its promising young stars, who could keep up a tradition well over 100 years old if he features this season.

The summer transfer window is coming to a close, and Liverpool has made some key decisions on which players will stay and which will leave in the final hours.
The Reds have already sanctioned several moves, with Curtis Jones joining Inter Milan on a permanent deal, along with Stefan Bajcetic's move to Celta Vigo, while Harvey Elliott is closing in on a switch to La Liga outfit Valencia.
There have also been loans for some of the academy players who need more minutes at senior level, as Amara Nallo, Armin Pesci, Kieran Morrison, and Calum Scanlon were among the first to leave.
Decisions have then had to be made on some other academy prospects who could have received minutes elsewhere, but look set to stay at the club for at least the next few months.
Lewis Koumas, James McConnell, and Luke Chambers have been among those who have been touted with interest in the EFL for possible loans, but the trio looks likely to stay.
So too has Jayden Danns, the young striker who is looking to kick on after a frustrating previous campaign that saw him largely sidelined through a hamstring injury.
While there was a possible loan on the cards, Telegraph reporter Dominic King claims that the forward will stay at Liverpool with the aim of showing Andoni Iraola that he can make a contribution for the season ahead.
If the 20-year-old is able to contribute, he will continue a 134-year record with the club of having a local player represent the team, a feat that was recently held up by the displays of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jones, before the pair made their respective exits.

Danns will not only be looking to help continue such a proud tradition, built within the local area, but he will also hope that there is an opportunity to kick on with the team over the coming months.
Hugo Ekitike's injury means there is a lack of center-forward depth beyond Alexander Isak, with Federico Chiesa the only other player who has featured in that position, though he is a rather unorthodox option.
That opens up a chance for Danns to impress, while he may not be the only academy star who could break through and make a real impact on the senior team.
Rio Ngumoha is in line for more opportunities this season, after a breakout campaign last time out, while midfielder Trey Nyoni is also expected to receive more minutes in the weeks and months ahead.
Considering the tough schedule involving the Premier League, Champions League, and both domestic cups, there could also be a reliance on the likes of Koumas, Chambers, and McConnell to make their own impact.
It remains to be seen how they will do, but Iraola will need to show them his trust with opportunities moving forward, if he is to get the balance between those competitions right.
