**Liverpool have strengthened their squad this summer with four new signings, but it goes without saying that they still have a few gaping holes to address.**
Their right-back spot, in particular, seems to be in a bit of a pickle. Conor Bradley is out injured and is no closer to returning to action, while Jeremie Frimpong hasn’t really impressed in that role since his move to Anfield.
The likes of Wataru Endo and Dom Szoboszlai can fill in at right-back if needed, but that’s hardly a permanent solution for Andoni Iraola.
And now, reports from France claim Liverpool made a loan move for Chelsea’s Malo Gusto, only for their advances to be turned down by the Blues.
Fabrice Hawkins wrote on X: “Liverpool made a final push today to sign Malo Gusto on loan, but the attempt ended without success.
“The Reds were only willing to consider a loan with no mandatory buy clause, while Chelsea were pushing for a permanent transfer.
“Liverpool simply don’t have the financial means to make a permanent deal happen.”
