Andoni Iraola is still searching for his first competitive win as Liverpool head coach after two draws from two Premier League games.
The Spaniard replaced Arne Slot this summer, following a season in which Liverpool won the title in 2024-25 but slipped to fifth place last term.

Liverpool opened the new campaign at Newcastle United on August 23, where Dominik Szoboszlai’s penalty in the ninth minute of stoppage time rescued a 2-2 draw at St James’ Park. Anthony Elanga and Joe Willock had scored either side of Cody Gakpo’s equaliser for the hosts.
Six days later, Liverpool were held again. Victor Munoz marked his home debut with a late equaliser as Nottingham Forest left Anfield with a point in a 2-2 draw on August 29.
Alexander Isak had cancelled out Dan Ndoye’s opener before Morgan Gibbs-White’s penalty put Forest back in front.
Iraola’s squad has been reshaped through the summer, with Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Isak among the new arrivals at Anfield.
The club’s Champions League campaign begins in the second week of September.
Away from Anfield, another name with Liverpool ties has been in the news.
Wrexham AFC have confirmed that Conor Coady has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract, according to the Wrexham AFC website.
Coady, 33, joined Wrexham from Leicester City in August 2025 for a fee believed to be around £2 million. He made just six appearances in all competitions for the Welsh club.
He started Wrexham’s opening five games of the 2025-26 Championship season before falling down the pecking order. Coady then joined Charlton Athletic on loan in the January transfer window, making 12 appearances for the Addicks.
On his return to the Racecourse Ground, he was not included in any of Phil Parkinson’s matchday squads this season.
Wrexham held an option to extend Coady’s contract by a further 12 months, with the deal otherwise set to expire at the end of the season.
That option will now not be exercised, with the club confirming an early termination instead.
Coady came through Liverpool’s academy and made two first-team appearances for the club, debuting in a Europa League group match against Anzhi Makhachkala in November 2012.
He never established himself at Anfield, moving on loan to Sheffield United before joining Huddersfield Town permanently in 2014.
He went on to enjoy the most productive spell of his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, making over 300 appearances and winning the Championship in 2017-18.
Coady also earned 10 England caps, including a run to the Euro 2020 final, before later spells at Everton and Leicester City preceded his move to Wrexham.
He is now a free agent, without a club for the first time since leaving Liverpool’s academy system over a decade ago.
