Chelsea reportedly turned down an approach from Liverpool over a deal for Malo Gusto on deadline day. The Blues have had a busy summer transfer window and have been linked with several potential new signings over the last few months.
There have also been rumours that existing members of the Chelsea squad could leave before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday, with Gusto’s name now being mentioned on the rumour mill.
Gusto was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City earlier in the transfer window, but a deal never materialised, and the right-back has since remained at Stamford Bridge.

Reports have now emerged on deadline day which claimed that Liverpool had shown an interest in trying to sign the France international before the transfer window closes.
Journalist Fabrice Hawkins reports that Liverpool approached Chelsea about a potential deal to sign Gusto on a loan deal.
The report claims that the Anfield outfit only wanted to sign Gusto on loan without an obligation to buy at the end of the season, something which Chelsea were not willing to agree to.
Instead, the Blues are reported to have "pushed" for a permanent exit for Gusto, but Liverpool were not willing to agree to those terms, either, meaning no deal was agreed between the two clubs.
Gusto was reported to be valued by Chelsea at around £75million earlier in the summer when City were showing an interest in the right-back’s signature, but it's unclear if this was the same fee that was put to Liverpool when they turned down a permanent deal.
New Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has already made it clear the importance that Gusto has to his plans, with the 23-year-old starting in both Premier League victories over Fulham and Brighton over the last two weeks.
The defender was also named in the starting line-up for Chelsea’s victory over Luton in the Carabao Cup, and could be in line for another start when the Blues face reigning champions Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.
Chelsea are already preparing for one major departure on deadline day, with Enzo Fernandez seemingly closing in on a £125million switch to Manchester City in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
