Chelsea keeper Sanchez joins Como on loan

**Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has signed a season-long loan deal to play in Italy’s Serie A, following in the footsteps of Trevoh Chalobah in linking up with former Chelsea midfielder and now Como boss Cesc Fabregas.**

Blues manager Xabi Alonso quickly moved to sign Argentina World Cup-winning keeper Emiliano Martinez after Sanchez’s high-profile error led to Fulham’s opener in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory at Craven Cottage in their Premier League season opener.

Sanchez, 28, has moved to the Italian side on an initial loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent.

The Spaniard joined Chelsea from Brighton in the summer of 2023, making 112 appearances.

Blues academy graduate Chalobah joined Como in August on a five-year deal that could rise from £25.7m to more than £30m.
