Chelsea have agreed a late deal with Monaco to sign midfielder Lamine Camara, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.
The Blues have seen a number of outgoings on Deadline Day after Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin moved to Tottenham Hotspur, Marc Guiu completed a move to RB Leipzig, Dario Essugo agreed to join Strasbourg on loan, and a British-record £125m deal was agreed with Man City for Enzo Fernandez to leave.
But the club have now moved quickly to ensure they are not left short in midfield before the deadline passes at 11pm tonight, and a deal has been agreed for the Ligue 1 star.
Chelsea had a €45m bid rejected earlier in the day, and a deal wasn't expected to be completed, with the Blues happy with their squad. But talks have continued, and the west London side have now agreed a deal worth £47m for the Senegal international.
Camara has received authorization to travel for a medical, and there is optimism at Stamford Bridge that a deal can be completed before tonight's deadline in less than two hours.
GIVEMESPORT sources understand that Camara has agreed a six-year contract with the option of a further 12 months, with the transfer driven by Behdad Eghbali.
The deal was resurrected at the 11th hour after Everton's move for Folarin Balogun ran into trouble. Monaco need to make a sale before the window closes, and Chelsea have swooped in to seal the midfield signing they have been keen on to replace Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea were also showing an interest in Roma star Manu Kone, but manager Gian Piero Gasperini blocked the move, which saw the Blues go all in on Camara instead, having held talks in recent days with the Ligue 1 club.

Chelsea have had a very busy summer window when it comes to incomings for new manager Xabi Alonso, with ten new faces confirmed prior to Camara.
Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, Pep Chevarria, Jordan Henderson, Danny Welbeck, Emiliano Martinez, Geovany Quenda, Valentin Barco, and Emmanuel Emegha have all arrived.
Alonso has started the season in perfect fashion with three wins from three in all competitions, and he will be hopeful that he has Camara to call upon for their next game against Premier League champions Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
