AS Monaco cancel Lamine Camara transfer to Chelsea — reports

It looked like Chelsea managed to pull off the deal to sign Lamine Camara in the final hours of the transfer window, but at the very last moment, AS Monaco have gone back on their word and have canceled the deal.

Can they do that? I guess so?

Monaco had been reluctant to let the 22-year-old midfielder go, but after the Folarin Balogun transfer fell through and had denied them needed income, they had agreed a €55m deal with Chelsea for Camara. The Blues conducted a quick medical, got all the signatures, and looked to have finalized things.

But transfers are never done until they are announced — and sometimes, not even then as in the case of Mikel John Obi back in the day — and Monaco apparently were able to renegotiate the Balogun deal with Everton and thus pull the plug on the Camara deal.

Or something along those line.

Can they do that? It would appear that they can.
