Cup your hand to your ear and listen. That sound you can hear is the reverberation from the transfer window having been slammed emphatically shut on Tuesday evening.
A sad day for those more obsessed with the movement of players off the pitch than on it passed with Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola relieved he now knows the squad he will be working with for the remainder of the calendar year.
Liverpool made strengthening their forward options a priority and eventually finalised a deal for Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain that could ultimately see them splash out £123million for his services.
There were question marks over the future of Cody Gakpo with Manchester City ready to spend £85m on the Dutchman until any potential deal was called off, while Harvey Elliott has joined Valencia on loan for the season in one of three deals involving Liverpool that were completed on Tuesday.
