Liverpool's transfer dealings aren't necessarily done despite the Premier League deadline having passed

The Premier League deadline has passed, but Liverpool's summer transfer business isn't necessarily over. A late flurry of business at Anfield saw Bradley Barcola join the Reds for £123million, while Lucca Brughmans sealed a £30m deadline day move, but will spend the rest of this season at Genk.
All in all, Liverpool had the highest net spend of any team in England's top flight this summer. The Reds finished £219m in the red, more than any other Premier League team, after spending heavily but bringing in little through sales.
There may be a way to balance the books further, however, given that numerous leagues around the world are still open for business. The ECHO has broken down a handful of players who could still leave Liverpool in the coming days and weeks.

Federico Chiesa
Despite looking like one of the most likely departures at the start of the summer, Federico Chiesa remains a Liverpool player. The Euro 2020 champion has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A for months now, but clearly wants to fight for his place under Iraola.
Chiesa's versatility across the forward line does add value, with the player enjoying some clutch moments in red. However, the arrival of Barcola only makes it even less viable for him to expect substantial playing time.
"Federico is not thinking about leaving Liverpool," Chiesa's father told 365Scores. "Chiesa is very happy at Anfield and feels extremely good within the club. As for renewing the contract, his first desire is to continue and stay with Liverpool."
The Serie A transfer deadline has passed, meaning a move back to Italy is off the cards for the ex-Juventus talisman. However, Turkey's Super Lig remains open for business until Friday evening, while one of Portugal's big guns could come in anytime up until the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Lewis Koumas

Someone who will undoubtedly be a controversial pick among some fans. Lewis Koumas is near the top of the current crop of Liverpool youngsters and enjoyed an impressive bedding-in period during pre-season.
Koumas, 20, came off the bench for a 12-minute cameo in the draw against Newcastle before he was an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest. Again, Barcola's arrival only further limits opportunities for fringe players on the left wing.
A Championship loan might have been ideal for 12-cap Wales international Koumas, while the Scottish Premiership and Belgium's Pro League will close for business tomorrow (Sept. 3). The Eredivisie transfer window closes at midnight tonight, while the aforementioned windows in Turkey and Portugal offer more time.
Harvey Davies
With Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili both staying at Anfield this summer, the route to the No. 1 jersey looks crowded for Harvey Davies. Freddie Woodman also signed a new deal this summer, while Vitezslav Jaros' presence likely makes it four goalkeepers ahead of Davies in the pecking order.

Reports earlier this summer indicated there are plans to extend Davies' own contract, currently due to expire next summer. Those same reports suggested the 22-year-old, who has been with the club since 2011, would be kept around as cover until January before another decision is made on his future.
Those plans could still be expedited, however, in order to give the youngster a much-needed chance at senior minutes. His options are wide open, with transfer windows in Belgium, Austria, Hungary, and Scotland closing tomorrow, while those in countries like Croatia (Sept. 7) and Greece (Sept. 15) have more time left on the clock.
Jayden Danns
Jayden Danns' injury troubles over the past year or so have curtailed his chances of any senior impact for Liverpool. The forward is on the comeback trail again, but should be just about fit after missing the pre-season prep.

The argument is there to be made that Danns needs a loan move away from Anfield as much as anyone else coming out of the academy. His injury setbacks risk stagnation if he doesn't have the chance to play at the required level, and a change of surroundings could prove just the right start he needs.
Any of the aforementioned second-tier leagues in Europe could benefit from an imposing, physical presence in attack. And Danns, who looks too good for under-21 football, could return to Merseyside at some point in 2027 looking far more suited to making his presence felt back at Anfield.
James McConnell
Iraola reportedly decided to keep James McConnell close after his impressive pre-season displays. And there's every chance the 21-year-old could surprise this term after a proposed loan to Preston was called off.
It's plausible, too, considering Liverpool's midfield is made up of a top-class first string but lacking in depth. The scope is there for the 21-year-old to make his name heard, but it is still far from guaranteed.

The worst-case scenario in McConnell's case would be for Liverpool to reach the end of this season with him still having failed to accrue any significant minutes. A loan north of the border could be well-suited for Newcastle-born star if a team in Scotland moves quickly, though he's unlikely to return to the Eredivisie after an unremarkable spell at Ajax last season.
