The summer transfer window closed on Tuesday night after a frantic final round of deals across the Premier League.
Several clubs completed late business, while others were left to explain deals that never materialised.

Liverpool made offers to sign Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Reds had identified the Palace winger as a potential addition to their forward line, with Cody Gakpo’s future at Anfield uncertain amid interest from Tottenham Manchester City.
Sarr made his own position clear during the process.
He stopped training with Palace and told the club he no longer wanted to play for them following Liverpool’s approach, according to reports.
Despite that pressure, Crystal Palace held firm.
Liverpool’s interest was reported to include two offers in the region of £50m and £65m each, and the south London club maintained that Sarr was not for sale.
Once Liverpool decided to keep Gakpo rather than sell him to City, the move for Sarr was confirmed as off.
That outcome has now prompted a strong reaction from Sarr’s representative.
Diomansy Kamara, who also acts as agent for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, released a statement addressing both players’ failed transfers on deadline day.
Camara’s proposed move to Chelsea collapsed in the closing hours of the window after Monaco reversed an agreed £47m deal, choosing instead to keep the midfielder and pursue a separate sale involving Folarin Balogun.
Kamara’s statement linked the two cases directly.
“The cases of Ismaila Sarr and Lamine Camara must all interrogate us,” he said in his Instagram story on Wednesday morning.
He argued that African players are too often treated as assets rather than individuals with agency over their own careers.
“We have to get out of this logic where the African player can sometimes give the feeling that he is just a commodity: you buy it, you set its price, you negotiate its future and, too often, your will seems to go to the background,” Kamara said.
He called for greater consideration of players’ voices in transfer negotiations.
“Our African players deserve respect. The respect of their work. The respect of their career. Respecting their ambitions. The respect of their voices,” he added.
Kamara acknowledged that clubs ultimately hold the power in transfer dealings, but questioned whether that should mean players are overlooked entirely.
“A transfer shouldn’t just be a matter of two clubs and numbers. Behind every contract, there’s a man, a career, dreams and life choices,” he said.
“The fact that clubs can sometimes have the final word is a reality of professional football. But one question remains: what about the career and the will of the player?”
He closed by stressing the contribution players make to the game.
“The player must be able to be heard and respected in the decisions that determine his future,” Kamara said. “Let’s never forget what’s important: behind every success, it’s the players who write history first.”
Sarr remains under contract at Crystal Palace until 2029 and has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for the club since joining in 2024. He has not featured for Palace in their opening two matches of the new season.
