On deadline day, the most notable piece of business done by Barcelona in terms of exits involved midfielder Marc Casado. Casado was always expected to leave Barcelona in the summer, with Hansi Flick having made it clear that he did not count on him for the 2026-27 season. It was a surprise that it took as long as it did for him to leave, and in the end, it was far from a favourable deal for the club, especially given that Deportivo will almost certainly not pay the buy clause.
Nevertheless, Casado is happy with the move, as he told [MD](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20260902/1004222540/casado-todos-hemos-hecho-cosas-cosas-mejorar.html) before flying to A Coruna to begin the next stage of his career. While he is upset to leave Barcelona, he’s excited for the challenge ahead.

€30m is the price that Deportivo can pay to sign Casado permanently, but with the midfielder’s contract up in 2028, it means he would only have a year left upon returning to Barcelona next summer. Clubs will be aware of this, which is why a deal would be much cheaper to do – the Catalans can offer him a new contract, although this would only make it more difficult for him to leave in the future, which is why it is unlikely to happen.
