Liverpool had been expected to oversee more outgoings, either permanent or on loan, on deadline day, but at least four stayed and could still be considered for an exit.
The Reds were not as busy in the final days of the transfer window as many had hoped, with the club only getting Bradley Barcola‘s £123 million transfer over the line.
Exciting goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans was signed for £30 million, but will only make the move next summer, while Harvey Elliott made a second successive summer exit on loan to Valencia.
There were a few names left without a new club, though, despite reported interest, with 18-year-old forward Will Wright among those not to have a temporary move signed off.

This Is Anfield understands his representatives were due to hold talks over temporary moves last week, but nothing transpired. At least half a season at academy level is now expected.
Kaide Gordon, 21, has just one year remaining on his contract and was expected to depart following persistent injury troubles and limited prospects being integrated into the senior setup.
He was an exciting, bright prospect when he made his breakout in 2021/22, but has sadly struggled with his fitness and during loan spells at Norwich and Portsmouth.
Defender Wellity Lucky was being considered for a loan deal but also failed to land a move, as did right-back Isaac Mabaya.

Luke Chambers, Jayden Danns, James McConnell, and Lewis Koumas all attracted loan interest throughout the summer but remained at the club after the September 1 deadline.
The quartet will be considered wider first-team options, with senior depth otherwise limited.
Koumas played a part in the opening game at Newcastle and featured in both matchday squads alongside McConnell, with the duo to provide forward and midfield depth, respectively.
Chambers was one of the standouts in pre-season and will likely see opportunities come his way during domestic cup action, when Iraola will be eager to rotate his squad.
As for Danns, the striker had been battling injury throughout pre-season but will hope to build his fitness at academy level before offering support to Alexander Isak.

While the transfer window is now closed for English clubs, they can still agree sales and loans to those whose transfer windows remain open.
The following windows remain open, with possible opportunities if Liverpool and any of their players show interest:
• Eredivisie (Netherlands) – September 2
• MLS (United States) – September 2
• Eliteserien (Norway) – September 2
• Jupiler Pro League (Belgium) – September 3
• Bundesliga (Austria) – September 3
• Scottish Premiership/Championship (Scotland) – September 3
• Super Lig (Turkey) – September 4
• Super League (Switzerland) – September 8
• Ekstraklasa (Poland) – September 9
• Primeira Liga (Portugal) – September 15
• Saudi Pro League (Saudi Arabia) – October 12
There is no guarantee that any player will move on before the abovementioned windows close, but there could yet be markets to explore to avoid at least half a season on the periphery.
