**The summer transfer window has slammed shut and it’s safe to say Liverpool didn’t really set the world alight with their recruitment strategy.**
Granted, Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet, Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz are fantastic players in their own right.
However, the Reds needed more bodies in midfield and also at right-back as Jeremie Frimpong continues to struggle, while Conor Bradley is still out injured.
In terms of their midfield, though, it came as a massive shock to the Anfield faithful that Andoni Iraola opted against signing anyone, particularly after offloading Curtis Jones to Inter Milan.
And now, David Lynch has appeared to suggest that Liverpool view Lamine Camara as Alexis Mac Allister’s heir at Anfield.
Long story short, Lynch appeared to confirm two things: The Reds’ interest in Camara, coupled with the fact that Mac Allister could be on his way out of the club next summer.
“The Lamine Camara situation is interesting,” said David Lynch via Anfield Index.
“It is one to keep an eye on in 2027 and could well be linked to Alexis Mac Allister, who’ll have 18 months left to go in January on his contract.
“They haven’t made the move but there’s clearly some interest in him.”
Camara’s deadline-day move to Chelsea broke down and various reports have confirmed that Liverpool have told the player and his representatives that they will make a move for him in 2027.
Let’s see how this one develops in the coming months…
