Barcelona had no doubts regarding signing Jesse Bisiwu this summer, as the board and management ratified him as a top talent who is yet to erupt.
The club have been following the Belgian starlet for a long time now, and decided that it is best to bring him in immediately and mould him to their liking. Deco, in particular, was very keen on recruiting him.
Since arriving, Bisiwu has exceeded expectations as he scored twice in pre-season against Basel for Hansi Flick’s side and then went on to score for the Barça Atletic team against Reus FC as well.
A big game ahead
Bureaucratic issues have prevented Bisiwu from playing for the first team so far, and Barcelona have decided to keep the player on a subsidiary team registration for this season before handing him a merit-based promotion.

As reported by SPORT, the teenage forward has a big chance to earn the said ‘merit’ tonight as he takes to the field for a massive clash for Barça Atletic.
Juliano Belletti’s side after all, are set to take on Sabadell in the final of the Copa Catalunya at the Nova Creu Alta and will have to massively punch above their weight to secure a win.
Their opponents play two divisions above them and have been on a good run of form with five out of nine points secured and no goals conceded.
Bisiwu is a player who can be Barcelona’s X Factor on the night, and a strong showing will go a long way in backing his eventual claim for a first team number.
Bisiwu will be in Flick’s loop
While the youngster will indeed bear a B team registration this season and serve as a regular for Belletti’s side, the fact of the matter remains that he has been signed keeping a possible first-team role in mind.

The player was even presented at the Spotify Camp Nou during the first-team’s player presentation at the Joan Gamper Trophy, and has even trained with the senior side therefore throughout pre-season.
Barcelona have sufficient bench strength in attack this season, but Bisiwu’s involvement in the dynamics is only a matter of time if he keeps his performances at the same level.
After all, the inevitable injury-loop will arrive, and he will present himself as a promising option at that point.
