David Moyes
Everton endured a difficult summer transfer window, and with a failed move for Folarin Balogun leaving them with just one striker, holes remain in David Moyes' squad.
Balogun was close to a move to Everton, with a fee agreed between Monaco and the Merseyside club, but the American striker pulled the plug after the window had slammed shut.
The Toffees have left themselves incredibly short in both full-back positions and up front, but with the window closed, there's not much Everton can do.
Moyes' side can, of course, still sign players who are without a club on free transfers.
At this stage, that list isn't fully packed with superstars, but there are the odd gems that clubs can look to pick up.
In Everton's case, there might be one or two they could look to sign, and here are the eight best.
The full-back situation
Dani Carvajal looks on before a Real Madrid match
Everton only signed Ainsley Maitland-Niles as an option at right-back, despite losing both Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson.
That leaves the Toffees with just one natural right-back at the club, and you could even argue that Maitland-Niles is makeshift, having been converted there.
The obvious candidate as a potential option is former Real Madrid man Dani Carvajal.
Whether Carvajal would be interested in a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium is another story, but it's certainly worth an ask. The serial winner would bring a lot of top-level experience and would instantly improve the side.
Krepin Diatta is also available, having left Monaco. He's perhaps more of an attacking player on the right-hand side, but he has played a large portion of his games at right-back.
On the left-hand side, Oleksandr Zinchenko is available, but he is recovering from a long-term knee injury.
Someone who is fit is Raphael Guerreiro, and he's available following his departure from Bayern Munich. At the age of 32, there's no doubt he could do a fine job in the Premier League and improve Everton.

There are plenty of striker options available, but none of them screams like they are the ideal answer for Everton.
One wildcard option is Jamie Vardy. Of course, the former Leicester City man is past his best, but he's available nonetheless.
GIVEMESPORT recently reported that Vardy was approached by Wrexham. Although the 39-year-old is getting on, he was still playing in Serie A last season.
The most high-profile option is Karim Benzema. According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Benzema is weighing up his options after leaving Al-Hilal, but he is also considering retirement. If Everton can convince him to take a final short-term contract, it could be an exciting one for the Toffees.
Mauro Icardi and Anthony Martial are two final potential striker options, but there's no doubt they are past their best. In summary, the striker market isn't looking great for Everton.
