The 2026/27 campaign has not been the most productive so far for Estevao Willian, with the Brazilian worried about where he fits in under Xabi Alonso.
Estevao is seen by many as the future of the club after his very strong first season, albeit that was ruined by injury late on.
He has made a dramatic recovery to what was a severe hamstring injury, however as of yet has not made a start in the Premier League so far.

This also looks hard to come by when taking into account the brilliance of Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro currently in the attack at Stamford Bridge.
As per ESPN Brazil, Estevao is worried that he will not have many chances coming his way under Alonso to feature in the front three.
It goes on to say that the youngster also feels like he cannot play in the wing-back role which has proven to be so important in the new manager’s system.
This is because he does not want to gain the extra muscle required to play the position, which would in turn take away from his mobility that has made him the promising talent he is.

With Chelsea not qualifying for European football, there will be no opportunities for Estevao to feature in the Champions League this season, a competition where he showed his best last season.
The wonderkid has certainly not given up on life at Chelsea yet, although he has acknowledged that opportunities are going to be few and far between when Rogers and Palmer are in the side.
It remains to be seen if when playing the weaker teams in the Premier League whether Alonso reverts to having another attacker on the pitch, in which case Estevao would be first in the queue.
There are plenty of Chelsea fans incredibly excited about the talented four attacking options they have, and it surely won’t be too long before they all get their chance to start at the same time.
