Andoni Iraola has said Liverpool 'need a win' at Ipswich Town tomorrow after a frustrating start to the season.
Liverpool have opened the Premier League campaign with successive draws, as Iraola awaits his first win as manager. The Reds have twice trailed against both Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, before fighting back to earn late draws.
Iraola acknowledges that improvement is needed ahead of tomorrow's trip to Portman Road.
"We need a win, we are frustrated at this part of the job. I think we need to stick to games but I want to win, I need to win," he said at his pre-match press conference.
"We will go with this same [mentality] tomorrow. I think the first two gameweeks were probably the most difficult ones in terms of the market being open.
"Now I am much more comfortable. The market has closed - we know who we are. I think we have a lot of talent. Now we have to perform, do our job and we will start from tomorrow."
After big summer spend, Iraola says price tags don’t matter—only a Liverpool win at Ipswich
Liverpool were the highest net spenders in the Premier League over the summer, with more than £200m invested in the squad.
Iraola said the price of players is irrelevant with his sole focus on finding the best options for his team.
"We cannot put the price on the players or put a price on the players to perform because of how much they cost.
"We have seen the market and what players have cost this summer, in all positions for other teams. It is about trusting the players we have now. We have to help them perform and not because of their cost.
"I will put in the player that will help us win the game. I will not be looking at whether they were more money or less money. I don't really know what they earn, I don't ask the club.
"I have the players and I have to choose the best one each week. I need to win games."
