It’s been another busy transfer window with 11 Academy players now gaining valuable senior experience on loan.
Here is a breakdown of all the players and the clubs they will represent throughout 2026/27…
Oliver Whatmuff – Stockport
After an incredible loan with Rochdale last season, in which Whatmuff played an integral role in their National League Play-Off promotion to League Two, the 18-year-old has now joined League One side Stockport on a season-long loan as he continues to develop in the senior game.

Whatmuff made his league debut for the Greater Manchester outfit, helping them beat Plymouth Argyle 3-1 in an impressive first outing for Jimmy McNulty’s side.
Since then, he’s made a further three appearances for Stockport and looks a key member of the squad already.
Spike Brits – Sutton United
19-year-old shot stopper Brits has made the move south to National League side Sutton United for his first loan spell.
And in his first set of senior minutes, he’s certainly impressed.
Brits began his Sutton career with kept back-to-back clean sheets in a 3-0 win over Woking and 1-0 victory over Altrincham.
He’s played every league minute for the side so far as he looks a mainstay between the sticks.
Jack Wint – Kidderminster Harriers
Another EDS goalkeeper looking to gain valuable senior minutes, Wint has joined National League side Kidderminster Harriers on a season-long loan.
After learning from Enzo Maresca on City’s Tour of Asia, Wint has since made his debut for Kidderminster, helping the team to a 1-0 league win over Eastleigh.
Isaiah Dada-Mascoll – Lommel SK
After an impressive 2025/26 following his return to the EDS after a long-term injury, holding midfielder Dada-Mascoll has joined Lommel SK for his first loan.
Following their promotion, he will be looking to help the Belgian side fight in the Jupiler Pro League.
He made his debut in green in a narrow 1-0 defeat to R Charleroi.
Divin Mubama – Southampton
The England youth international is now linking up with Southampton after an impressive pre-season tour with Enzo Maresca’s first-team in which he scored two goals in two games.
The 21-year-old striker previously spent last season at Stoke City where he scored five times in 28 appearances.
Mubama made his Saints debut against Watford as he came on as a 70th minute substitute in a 2-1 defeat.
Emilio Lawrence – Luton
The 20-year-old has returned to Luton Town after recording 21 appearances and two goals in the 2025/26 campaign - with one of the two coming in their EFL Trophy victory at Wembley Stadium.
He recorded his first appearance of the new term in a 4-3 victory over Reading with 60 minutes under his belt.
Lakyle Samuel – Exeter City
After a successful loan spell with Bromley, Samuel has linked up with Exeter City as he looks to make another important impact.
The temporary switch will provide further experience of the demands of senior football and another great opportunity for development by playing within the EFL.
The defender has since made his debut, coming on in the 58th minute in a 1-0 defeat to Grimsby.
Christian McFarlane – Leicester
The 19-year-old left-back has linked up with the Foxes ahead of their 26/27 League One campaign.
At the time of publishing, McFarlane is looking settled in the East Midlands, having made two league appearances for Leicester in which they have drawn one and won one.
Stephen Mfuni – Coventry
For his second loan spell in his career to date, Stephen Mfuni will be looking to gain experience with Frank Lampard’s Coventry.
To be trusted on loan at a Premier League outfit speaks volumes on the 18-year-old’s ambitions and talent.
He’ll be fully focused on helping the West Midlands outfit maintain their status in the English top-flight.
Jaden Heskey – Sheffield Wednesday
After an impressive loan for the latter half of the 2025/26 season, Jaden Heskey has re-joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan for 2026/27.
Following their relegation to League One, Heskey will be looking to support the team in their ambition to return to the Championship.
And he’s already straight into the action with one appearance already under his belt, featuring as a substitute in their 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers in which Heskey played a key role in helping the Owls complete the comeback.
Divine Mukasa – West Ham
Divine has returned to the capital and his former club West Ham United on a season-long loan.
Looking to gain more valuable senior football experience, he’ll be looking to help the Hammers in their charge to return to the Premier League.
And his loan has started with a bang. At the time of writing, Mukasa has made four appearances for West Ham. One was a thrilling 4-2 win over Wolves in which the 19-year-old scored a goal of the season contender before bagging a second of the night.
