The Blues grabbed their second win of the season last Friday night by securing victory away from home against Crystal Palace, making it two wins from two and going a long way towards dispelling doubts that arose following the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
It took 17 minutes for Manchester City to find a breakthrough, as Antoine Semenyo's cross found Erling Haaland, who looped his header over Dean Henderson to give him his first goal of the season.
Crystal Palace were lucky to go into half-time just one goal down, with Phil Foden having two opportunities to extend his side's lead but being unable to turn either chance into a goal.
Just minutes after half-time, Enzo Maresca's side were in the mood for more. Phil Foden found a pass to Rayan Cherki, as the Frenchman was able to lose four defenders before slotting the ball home to double City's advantage. The two-goal lead would last little more than a minute, though, as Yeremy Pino's free-kick ricocheted in off the back of Gianluigi Donnarumma to reduce City's lead.
To cap off a five-minute flurry, Rayan Cherki found the net once again, this time from range. With the two-goal cushion restored, Erling Haaland rounded off the scoring in the 84th minute to give his side their second win of the season.
The win also saw some rather comfortable Premier League debuts for Ayyoub Bouaddi, Kaden Braithwaite and Ryan McAidoo, with all three players getting their first taste of league action for the club.
Next up is Frank Lampard's Coventry City, who come into this one after a 1-0 defeat against Hull and an opening day defeat to Arsenal, leaving them with zero points from the opening two matches.

Team News
Jeremy Doku remains a doubt having aggravated a calf injury picked up at the World Cup. A return is nearing though, and Enzo Maresca previously stated he should only be out for two to three weeks following the Community Shield clash with Arsenal.
Matheus Nunes missed out on the Crystal Palace fixture through a lack of match fitness and it is as yet unknown whether he will feature against Coventry from the start. If he is to be picked for the squad, a start from the bench remains most likely.
Aside from Nunes and Doku, Enzo Maresca has a fully fit squad from which to pick his side. He will also be boosted by the arrivals of Allan from Palmeiras, Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, and Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea.
Coventry will be without Kaine Kesler-Hayden (Hamstring), Luke Woolfenden (Knee), Ephron Mason-Clark (Hamstring), and Haji Wright (Quad). Wright was the side's top scorer in the Championship last season with 17 goals, a big blow for Frank Lampard's team.
